Rosacea is a common skin condition. At first, people with rosacea notice that they seem to blush more easily than other people. However, over time, this redness may not go away, and can spread beyond the cheeks and nose, to the ears, neck, chest and/or eyelids.
Vascular Lesions are common skin malformations of the veins, arteries and lymphatic vessels that are apparent on the surface of the skin. We use Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and the innovative non-ablative 1064 Nd:YAG laser technologies, they successfully treat a vast range of vascular lesions, including telangiectasia, erythema, rosacea, broken capillaries, dyschromia, solar lentigo, mottled pigmentation, melasma and poikilormera, and are ideal for all skin types and all age groups.
Brown spots are usually a result of sun exposure, combined with a genetic predisposition. If your parents had age spots, you may be more likely to have them as well.
Because our faces are more exposed to the sun, that is where they tend to appear first.
Just because they are almost inevitable, that doesn’t mean they are untreatable. Because age spots fall under the category of hyperpigmentation of the skin, they tend to respond very well to modern laser treatments.
Frequently asked questions
We advise you to moisturize regularly (hydration is very important before and after treatment for safe recovery), refrain from taking certain antibiotics and topical creams such as retinoids (Retin-A) that affect skin sensitivity ) and avoid too much exposure to the sun (wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher).
When you arrive at the clinic we will clean your skin and do a gentle microdermabrasion. You will wear an eye mask to protect your eyes from the light then we will proceded to do the IPL photo rejuvenation treatment.
you may feel as you have a sunburn on the treatment area, though this feeling will subside within twenty-four hours. Typically, some scabs or blisters may appear after a photorejuvenation treatment, and these should not be picked at (we offer a complementary mini microdermabrasion to take care of that and to follow up with you). We advise you to avoid hot water and prolonged sun exposure for up to two days following your procedure.
IPL photo rejuvenation treatment consists of a very bright, controlled light that is absorbed by various components of the skin. The colours in the light are attracted to the red and brown discolouration in the skin and by the collagen tissue. The body’s healing mechanism takes over and absorbs the reds, sloughs the browns and stimulates the production of new collagen.
You may feel a mild tingling or stinging sensation when the pulse of light is delivered to the skin. Gel is applied before the treatment to cool the skin and provide comfort.
During your FREE consultation we will design a treatment plan specifically for your skin issues, which will include an estimated number of treatments to achieve maximum results. However, the procedure does not stop the skin from aging, so it's possible that new wrinkles or blemishes will appear over time. For this reason, some patients choose to undergo pulsed light therapy multiple times over a period of several years.
None what so ever! Some of our clients prefer to have this procedure done on their own lunch hour! After a treatment your face will seem a little flush, as if you had just been in the sun tanning. This is normal and only lasts a few hours. The flushed areas can be covered immediately with our mineral make-up
